The Toronto Catholic District School Board congratulates Lisa McGuckin, Resource Teacher in the Student Success Department, for being named this year’s recipient of the Ontario School Counsellors’ Association’s Howard Beattie Award for Professional Contribution. The award is named in honour of one of the founders of Guidance in Ontario.
The award will be presented at the OSCA Awards Banquet on November 8th at the Doubletree by Hilton, Toronto Airport Hotel.
Nominees for this award must be OSCA members who have created new and beneficial ideas and techniques for professional use and communicated these through such means as workshops, local leadership, organization of a conference, guidance courses or executive activity.
“We are extremely proud of Lisa,” says TCDSB, Director of Education, Ann Perron. “She has been a tremendous asset to our Board, and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the students in our schools. I’m sure this recognition from her peers reinforces the valuable contribution that she makes each and every day in her professional life.”
