Kennedy and Andrachuk Re-Elected 2010 Chair and Vice-Chair for Toronto Catholic District School Board

Angela-KennedyAngela Kennedy, Trustee for Ward 11, was elected for a second term as the Chair of the Toronto Catholic District School Board at the regular meeting of the Ministry Supervisor (The Board) this evening, December 9, 2009.

Angela Kennedy has served as a Trustee for the Toronto District Catholic School Board since November 2000, and since that time has served the Board on its Special Education Advisory Committee as well as the Race and Ethnic Relations Multiculturalism Committee. She is a Registered Nurse and diabetes educator with more than 35 years of experience at Toronto East General Hospital.

“Student achievement and student success continue to be a top priority for our Board, and I am proud to say that our Catholic schools are serving our students well,” says Chair Kennedy. “Our students and our schools have been given a solid foundation on which to build a future with a focus on teaching, living and learning our Catholic faith.”

I encourage us all to work together with integrity, responsibility and accountability to re-establish ourselves as leaders in Catholic education,” she adds.

Ann Andrachuk, Trustee for Ward 2, was elected to a second term as Vice-Chair of the Board for 2010. Trustee Andrachuk was first elected in 2003 and has served on a number of committees during her years with the Board, including as a member of the Catholic Parent Involvement Committee, as Chair of the Human Resources Committee, Police Liaison Committee for 22 Division, and a Trustee representative on the Special Education Advisory Committee, in addition to serving a term as Honorary Treasurer.

Paul Crawford, Trustee for Ward 12 was elected as Honorary Treasurer.

“Through close collaboration with our Trustee partners in Catholic education, I am confident that we will be able to continue to effectively address the diverse needs of our student population,” says Ann Perron, Director of Education.
